Firstly, all our listless queries were answered clearly and promptly by Kailash before our arrival.
The driver Mr Mohan is friendly man and has made us feel at ease at all times. As we are Muslims, our needs to offer our prayers and eat halal food were all taken into account.
Here are the lists of budget hotels that we stayed (arranged by Kailash) and a bit of review for each:
1. Thamel Hotel Kathmandu:
Friendly hotel staffs, accessible within walking distance to do souvenir shopping. Walking distance to many restaurants including 2 halal restaurants (al Medina and al Mekka restaurants). The only downside is that the hotel room is comparatively small to other hotels we went.
2. Peaceful Cottage Nagarkot:
Lovely, spacious and unique rooms with breathless mountain scenery. The rooms are too beautiful to be classified as a budget hotel. The hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. Only that, I found it very cold at night, without heating system in the rooms. The staffs did provide us with few hot water bottles. There was hot water supply at all hotels we went.
3. Hotel Asia Pokhara:
Rooms are clean and spacious. Again, helpful and friendly hotel staffs. Honestly, we really think that in general, all the Nepalese are nice, friendly and very humble people. The hotel is above satisfactory level despite being a budget hotel. Also, from the rooftop, we were able to enjoy the mountain view of Annapurna Himalayan range. It would have been clearer if the weather was not misty.
4. Rhino Lodge Chitwan:
We absolutely loved this place!! Must go there if u were to travel to Chitwan! We did not expect to have so much fun there. That’s all we can say about Rhino Lodge. They catered to our halal meals at the hotel itself, throughout our stay. Loved their Masala tea!
The activities arranged by the hotel staffs which came as a package were superb! Village sightseeing, canoeing along misty river in early morning, jungle safari walk, bathing with the elephants, elephant ride in the jungle and river crossing for nearly 1 and a half hour probably longer, traditional dance…. All left us with wonderful memories!
Other extra activities arranged by Kailash:
1. Paragliding with Sunrise Company and Phoenix Company. Both companies are equally good. Most of their paragliding pilots and instructors are from European countries. Few of them are Nepalese, able to speak very good English. They explained everything professionally and we were very satisfied! Even my 2 children enjoyed this experience.
2. Mountain flights with Simrik Airlines. Thank goodness we took this flight. Initially we were all frustrated with the weather in Pokhara and Nagarkot for not being able to fully enjoy the white mountain sceneries. We read few reviews in the internet saying that some people were not able to see clearly during their mountain flights and would like their money refund. Ours were different. We saw vividly from a near distance the surfaces and the peaks of Himalayan mountains.
3. Trekking up a hill (height 1150m from sea level), above is Peace Stupa/ Buddha Stupha. Not a single regret going up this hill, meeting the villagers and children up and down the hill, seeing their different ways of lives, and the view of the lakes, mountains etc up there wowww… like the ones we saw in the magazines and posters!
Would suggest Kailash to add another activity like photograph session while wearing traditional Nepalese costumes during the trip. This, we arranged ourselves.
Thank you very much Kailash for making our trip to Nepal such a memorable one, adventurous and full of emotions!
Recommended Kailash to everyone as the package price is reasonable and cheaper than other travel companies we enquired. Worth it!
My husband, brother in law and uncle hope to return to Nepal for the Annapurna base camp trekking with Kailash.
